Fields of Mistria Mods: Current Status

Fields of Mistria mods are unofficial third-party content. The community wiki does not document a built-in mod loader, so do not follow guides that say every mod can simply be dropped into one universal folder and enabled in-game.

The actively published community option we verified is Mods of Mistria Installer (MOMI). Its latest non-prerelease release is v0.15.6, published August 19, 2026.

⚠️ Status checked August 21, 2026: MOMI describes itself as early-development software that may contain bugs and may not work on every system. A release asset is not a guarantee of compatibility.

Compatibility Check Before You Install

  1. Open the mod author's page and confirm that the mod supports your current game build, platform and required dependencies.
  2. Check the mod's publication or update date. MOMI states that the July 7, 2026 engine switch made older mods unsupported; a mod released before July 2026 needs an author update before use with the current installer.
  3. Check the current MOMI release and README again after the game, installer or mod updates.
  4. Back up your saves before running third-party tools or changing game files.

Different mods can have different dependencies, conflicts and removal instructions. The mod author's instructions take priority; there is no verified one-size-fits-all uninstall or save-recovery procedure.

How to Install with MOMI

  1. Windows: open the game directory containing FieldsOfMistria.exe and create a lowercase mods folder beside it.
  2. Steam Deck/Linux: create mods in the game directory, or create mistria-mods in your home directory.
  3. Download the correct GUI or CLI asset from the verified MOMI v0.15.6 release, then run the installer and choose Install.
  4. If MOMI cannot find the game, place the installer beside Maybe.toml in the game directory and run it again.
  5. After each Fields of Mistria update, rerun the installer to reinstall mods, then recheck each mod author's compatibility notes.

This is the installer project's documented path, not an official game feature. Download binaries only from the project author's release page or another source you independently trust.
